Okay, rather than go to Ustream to chat, I thought I would report right away on what we've learned today. This posted by MJNewsAlerts today, to give us a background on the case: home.mjnewsalerts.com/2011/01/25/conrad-murray-ready-to-plead-not-guilty/Ken Baker from eonline.com did an excellent job outside the courthouse, interviewing a famous anesthetist and others who told us what to expect today with Murray's arraignment. I also learned something VERY interesting, something we did not know before. Murray DID have a pulse heart monitor for Michael... he just didn't see the need to USE it! It was tucked away in another bedroom closet! If only he would have used it, and if only he didn't leave his patient, Michael would still be alive On February 7th, Judge Pastor will start hearing proceedings for the trial, including deciding whether to allow cameras inside the courtroom. Murray waived his right to attend the hearing, which he is allowed to do. The start date of the trial is March 28th, when jury selection will start. This process should take between 4 and 8 weeks. The DA estimated 4 to 6 weeks, and the defense estimated 8 weeks. We are all surprised that this process will start in just 2 months. Many fans, including the media, have speculated the trial would start much later this year. So we really don't know when Murray's actual trial will start... will of course keep you posted. Be sure to bookmark ca.eonline.com/ and check back often for updates. They will have inside the courtroom footage for us, as well as a written report. Watch E-News tonite for more about the arraignment and what we should expect in future. JUSTICE for Michael!

Murray waived his right to attend the hearing - its his right. Too bad our Michael has no rights. I hate that criminals are protected under the American judicial system. Consequently, it looks as if he will have a speedy trial and hopefully a just one.

Additionally, I had no idea the Michael's children watched him die. How horrible and sad for them! I just read Mary Anns info on facebook about the five things heard at the trial. I don't believe there is a judge alive whose heart wouldn't be broken by this. My great grandfather was a curcuit court judge and a real pistol. They called him the hanging judge!

It looks like the trial will be fully under way during the month of June and probably into July. Based on what the Los Angeles Times newspaper reported this week, that Judge Pastor said in court he was 'inclined to allow cameras inside the courtroom for the trial', fans will be able to see and hear all of the testimony virtually live.

We don't know for sure yet about the cameras, Marty. But the judge will decide on February 7th, so we will have to wait and see. That would be great, although at times very tough to watch!
I just wish we would have been able to watch the 2005 trial... the public would see the truth for themselves, without having to rely on tabloid lies, and Michael would be viewed so much differently today.

We are going to need each other during this trial. It's tough, to witness and hear about it in the media. So i hope all fans stick together and use the chatrooms often.

Yes, it's going to be VERY tough on us. But I don't see all the fans uniting over it. Unfortunately, I bet there will be a lot of fighting going on as usual. Not here, though! If ever we disagree about something, and yes that will happen, our comments will always be with love and respect.
This just posted today at TMZ... we already knew this, but it's nice to see in print!
Conrad's Ex Pokes Holes in Murray's MJ Defense 2/3/2011 7:00 AM PST by TMZ Staff
Dr. Conrad Murray's ex-girlfriend claims Murray knew something was wrong with Michael Jackson at the start of a phone call he made to her on the day MJ died -- a complete contradiction to Murray's story.
Sade Anding told Good Morning America Conrad had called her "out of the blue" on June 25, 2009 -- and from the beginning of the call, he "didn't sound like himself at all."
Anding claims she asked Murray what was wrong and he only replied, "Well ...."
That's when Sade claims Murray stopped talking ... and Sade claims she could hear someone "coughing" followed by a "mumbling of voices."
As TMZ previously reported, Murray told police he was on the phone with someone for a solid 5 minutes before he noticed something was wrong with MJ and got off the phone.
Prosecutors believe Murray may have known there was a problem earlier than he claims ... and may have used the time to cover up and make calls to establish his own timeline.

If he was trying to create some sort of alibi for himself, he's got the wrong idea... you don't prove that you were paying attention to your patient and trying to save his life by showing instead that you were busy talking to one of your many girlfriends on the phone at the same time! The more I hear about this guy, the more disgusted I become. The guy is a RAT!
I just wanted to add, since I saw your comments about 2005 after I posted this, that in my opinion, I don't believe cameras would have been allowed in the courtroom if for no other reason than the subject matter. After reading Aphrodite Jones book, and the trial transcripts, I don't think they could have shown half of it, unless it was on very late at night...too much graphic detail. Although I agree that LIVE video feed would have made it virtually impossible for the media to put the slant on it that they did, if any of it had been tape delay for the reason I mentioned above, I think there would have been room for monkey business - creative editing to show just what they wanted us to see and hear. In the current case, I would welcome cameras in the courtroom. Michael has no more to hide today than he did in 2005...it's Murray who has some 'splaining to do...

You're right Ann, of course, about cameras at the 2005 trial. The sexual content discussed would have kept the courtroom proceedings from TV. But the judge did have the option to allow cameras, and I'm sure they could have appropriately edited the sex talk. Wasn't it Tom Mesereau who didn't want the cameras? I don't think he wanted the added media scrutiny and attention... however his plan backfired Yes, Murray is a rat and his case is looking pretty bad for him, and full of holes. Which is good!

Breaking News just in...
Judge Pastor ruled today that TV cameras will be allowed in court at Murray's trial. An evidentiary hearing is set for February 15th. Jury selection will start on March 24th, and the trial will start 4 days later on March 28th, which will last approximately 6 weeks!
That means we will see justice for Michael by June!

I pray justice will be done, the media spin has already begun and it will only get worse when the trial begins. Those talking media heads will try to put Michael on trial all over again even though he's not here anymore & I'm really dreading that so much!!

We just got the bad news! The defense just met with Judge Pastor today, and they want to delay the trial to study 2 expert witnesses for the Prosecution. Pastor said they had that right, so now the trial won't start on May 9th but will be delayed! All jury questionnaires they have now will be ripped up, and they will start the process of finding a jury all over again, starting on September 8th or 9th!I am SO upset about this because I wanted to be in LA with my lovely MJ family to celebrate our victory, and finally seeing justice for Michael!

No I'm not kidding Dawn, I wish I was! Read more below. Jury selection will start on Sept. 8 or 9, and the trial will start on September 20th!www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/top/all/7546767.htmlFirst, Murray's team requests a speedy trial and gets it. And now they request a delay and they get it! I am SO pissed off!

This is extremely frustrating, to put it mildly. As much as I have been dreading the trial as such, it is high time to see justice done! I don't know the first thing about the U.S. justice system so can someone please tell me why the trial is delayed four whole months? Can the defense possibly need all that time because of two new witnesses? Is September perhaps just the next available open slot for an involuntary manslaughter trial in the judge's schedule? How does this work?

Sorry Iris, I should have explained further. At first the defense just asked for 2 more weeks, meaning the trial would start later in May. But the Judge thought that wasn't enough time, and he will be busy with other court cases at the end of June and all of July. I think too that some attorneys involved would have to change their schedules around, so it turns out everyone could make the time in September.
So no, the defense didn't need over 4 months, but it was a scheduling thing. I agree with you... it's just terrible we have to wait so long. I really want them to get going on this already... it's been way too long for all of us to wait, including the Jackson family!
