Viruses have always been in the negative lists of our minds. Even the thought of it in our body is able to make anyone cringe. Now, what do you think about injecting a virus into your heart? Scary, right? But thanks to the development of science and amazingly innovative scientists, a virus is going to be introduced to the world which is actually friendly to those who are in need of pacemakers inside their hearts! One of the most common heart disorders we see today is the pace making one. When someone’s heart becomes too weak to make the pace, an artificial pacemaker is inserted to the heart which works in a power of an inbuilt battery. However these artificial tool have a standard life time after which they need to be changed. To solve this problem scientists have gone for a biological solution which is injecting a species of virus which is modified genetically. According to Hee Cheol Cho, these viruses enter to the ordinary cells in the heart and create “pacemaker†cells. Therefore it is not a short term solution like inserting a pacemaker. Although these are in the experimental stage at the moment, the team of scientists suggests that it will come to the clinical age before even 2-3 years from now.

This is amazing! I heard about this before. It's unbelievable the improvements science had made regarding cardiology. I'm a cardio patient myself. Welcome to the forum! (I haven't been here for ages, hehehe)
