Okay this is my opinion... I know a lot of fans will definitely disagree with me. I sat back and waited until the trial was over, and now I can say my peace. Personally, I didn't think that Katherine and the children would win. The reason why is that AEG had no way of knowing what Murray was doing to Michael every night. Yes, AEG had hired him but as a general practitioner... nothing more than that.
However, I'm glad that Katherine filed against AEG... not so much for the money, but at that time a few years ago (before Murray's trial even got started), she was desperate to find out what really happened to Michael. And in my opinion, I wanted to hear the truth too... no matter how many unfavorable stories we heard about Michael... I wanted all of the truth, good or bad. We who love Michael and truly know him, know he was no saint... yes he was an addict, addicted to prescription medications which is NOT criminal. Although the media would love for everyone to believe that it was. He was not perfect, he was just a human being like all of us, and he had doctors ready and willing to feed him drugs. I'm sure you heard of Debbie Rowe's testimony by now, that doctors were falling over themselves trying to get to Michael, like a contest to see who could give him the more powerful drug. Disgusting, isn't it? But that's the way it is in the show business world... people are drawn to big celebrities and Michael was the biggest of them all.
Anyway, Roger Friedman wrote the following article and I commented in rebuttal, which is below. I have always regarded Roger's opinion highly because he has always spoken the truth while looking past all the tabloid trash. This time though, he's wrong. Here is what he wrote:
www.showbiz411.com/2013/10/03/michael-jacksons-life-was-trashed-for-no-reason-thanks-to-family
And these were my comments... I doubt they are showing up on his website because I'm in total disagreement:
"Hold on there, Mr. Friedman. Katherine had every right to sue AEG to seek some sort of justice, to seek compensation for her loss of income, and to provide for the children. It was Michael who was her sole provider from the beginning (Janet took over when Michael passed). But mainly, she filed the suit in desperation, to find out the truth of what really happened to Michael. Since she filed against AEG years ago, she found out the terrible truth during Murray’s trial.
Next, I take issue with the media reporting that Michael was the architect of his own demise. So are you saying MJ knew full well that propofol is dangerous, but took the risk anyway? No he did not know that… he was told by previous doctors that when closely monitored, he would be okay. He trusted all the doctors, including Murray. Why else would he invite him into his home to be put under every night if he didn’t trust him with his life? How was MJ to know that Murray would knock him out and then walk away to call his 3 girlfriends? (NO exaggeration there, read the transcripts). MJ the architect of his own demise? So are you saying that if you get into your car and another car hits and kills you, that it was YOUR fault for getting into your car? See what I mean? This is why I can’t stand the media twisting the story to make sure everyone knows Michael was to blame. And how could you call Murray vulnerable? You make Murray sound like a victim! What about Michael lying in bed being put down like a dog?"
If you agree with Roger, or disagree with my point of view, please post your thoughts. All thoughts are welcome... thanks MJ's Army!
