I just saw this posted on the MJFC website (please note the LAST paragraph!):
Friedman: MJ Movie May Not Have Advance Screenings (07-10-2009) The film about Michael Jackson’s tour rehearsals, “This Is It,” is being kept fairly secret right up until its opening.
“This Is It” is set to open on Wednesday, October 28th, released into theaters for two weeks by Sony. But so far no advance screenings have been scheduled other than one for the cast and crew, in Los Angeles, on Monday the 26th. The location is being kept hush-hush, too.
One screening for the Jackson family was cancelled, I am told, when Michael’s brother Randy insisted on bringing a guest. Sony said no, and the screening proceeded without any family members.
Many showings of “This Is It” have already sold out in advance. Sony is readying a CD soundtrack which will be released the same week, to capitalize on the film’s popularity. A source who’s been working on “This Is It” told me yesterday: “The tragedy is, the film is great. The public is finally going to appreciate Michael Jackson, and it’s too late.”
Meantime, the book of Michael Jackson taped interviews, by Shmuley Boteach, has not been much of a hit. It’s listed around number 332 on amazon.com. The average customer review is 2 out of 5 stars.

I love you more! Jacque

I've been reading the reviews at Amazon from people who have read this book. They are saying there's nothing new in here about Michael, that there's nothing Michael says that isn't already public information, that there are a few words from Michael followed by rants from the Rabbi that are shaming and condescending to Michael.
From what I've read, the bulk of the book is the Rabbi's moral "teachings" to Michael, with a few words from Michael thrown in. Apparently, the stuff you guys have heard on the tapes as the Rabbi made the rounds on the TV circuit, aren't even in the book.
In the book, the Rabbi says that Michael is a child molester, but not a monster and that people should understand why he's a molester and not hate him. Thanks for your opinion Rabbi. He says that Michael was beyond redemption. Nice words from a man of God. I wonder who put him in charge of deciding who is deserving of being redeemed?
As if this is not bad enough, he had the gall to dedicate this tirade against Michael and Michael's values to Michael's kids. This makes me sick and I hope he gets sued.
At the end of the book, the Rabbi says that he spent two years of his life trying to help Michael, but then Michael discarded him as if he had no value.
THIS is his motive for putting out this book. Michael hurt him, and now he's striking back. But, he also fails to mention why he was "discarded". He fails to mention that he ripped off Michael's Heal The World Foundation, using the money that had been donated by Michael ad others to buy himself a new house and pay the way for his own family members, listing them as employees of the foundation. Nice Godly work there Rabbi.
You won't learn more about Michael reading this book. You will only learn more about the Rabbi, because as I've said before...it is not Michael that will be demeaned by this work, it will be the Rabbi as he shows the truth of his despicable self to the world.
Here is my question about wanting to learn more about Michael:
The book only covers two years out of his fifty years, because that is the only time the rabbi had with him. What is it exactly, that you hope to learn that will help you now? How will you use what you learn about that part of Michael's life help you change the world?
If you must read it to satisfy your curiosity, consider reading the amazon reviews first. Many have stated that they regret buying it, regret reading it, and felt sickened reading it. If you still feel compelled to read it, then get it at the library. Don't put money in this man's pockets.
And what makes anyone think that whatever this guy transcribes in his book was actually said, when he refuses to reveal the tapes?
I am sickened whenever anyone takes advantage of another person, more so when that person is vulnerable, and I am absolutely through the roof when some sanctimonious windbag does it in the name of God.

according to Dnut, nothing that unfortunate friend who was called Michael, is a traitor, take advantage now that my King is gone I never used the word "traitor" when referring to the Rabbi. I'm not sure I understand your post. I think the translator you're using is not working very well. But to be clear, here are the words I would use to describe the Rabbi Sanctimonious Pompous Self Righteous Snake in the Grass Scumbag Windbag Jackass Slimy Smarmy I have several more words, but you never know when children will stop by the forum, so I'll keep those to myself.

Hi Everyone,
Let me begin by apologizing for my rant about the Rabbi and to anyone who might have hurt feelings because of it. First of all, rants belong on the rant board, so that's where I should have posted. And secondly, according to my own words, "A rant is not a tirade. A rant is not intended to blast negativity, rage, or attacks of any kind".
Hm. Looks like I blew it. I allowed my anger, my resentment, my frustration and my pain to bring negative energy to the forum where it can and probably has affected others. This is absolutely contrary to our mission to continue Michael's work by spreading his message throughout the world. I'm very sorry.
I thought about deleting both of my rant posts, but then decided to leave them up as an example of a lesson learned in the hope that this will somehow serve others in the future.
I had a little chat with Michael about the Rabbi, my tantrum, and my feelings of anger, frustration, and sadness. I said "Michael, I'm just so angry with the Rabbi and I'm frustrated because I don't know what to do with that anger and I'm just so saddened by his words about you. The injustice of the whole thing just enrages me and I don't know what to do about it.
Our precious Michael, ever calm, ever loving simply said:
"It doesn't matter, Nut. It doesn't matter. He can't hurt me. Let it go."
And as his loving energy washed over me, I realized where I had made my mistake. I should never have gone to Amazon to read the reviews. I didn't expect to see what I saw. I don't know why I didn't expect it, but I didn't and I never saw it coming. I guess I thought I'd see a bunch of fans bad-mouthing the Rabbi just for publishing the book, mixed in with some reviews from people who liked the book. I never expected to see that some reviewers would quote some of the Rabbi's hurtful and dishonest remarks about Michael. And when I did, it sent me over the edge.
I allowed my curiosity about what others thought of the book to lead me, and as a result, I made a poor decision that ultimately hurt me and quite likely hurt others as well. So yeah.... that lesson sucked.
Sorry you guys.
Peace

Hola Billie, Entiendo. I understand No need to apologize. The fault is mine. Let's try this idea. You make your comments in Spanish, and I will use a translator to translate your comments in to English. Then I will edit your comments and add the English so that others will understand. I am using the Google translator. Does the Google translator do a good job of translating English to Spanish? Does everything I have said make sense? If what I have said in English makes sense in Spanish, then we should use the Google Translator. www.spanishdict.com/translationPeace Nut

We must stop thinking like this; Michael teaches us how to behave; we have to love our "rnnemies", send them move and so we block them off; we can read michael's essay "look again baby seal" we can learn a lot; it is difficult to put all this in practice, but if we succeed we change the world; necause only love can unite, not anger or fear, remember all those negatives are also an other part of us; Michael got it all, he did so much good and he received all those bad things in return, but not only that he also got a huge growing amount of Michael ambassadors to bring out his message of love to the world; today I thought, maybe trhiller is a modele of what is happening right now: we gotso thrilled by Michael that he awakened us and a lot of us at the moment of his departure; he got us out of our graves to be start living and changing the world with telling Michaels story; I knew Michael along my life, when the rumours of him as a phedofhile ccame, I only said: no that is not true, no way and that was it; if you on't give attention to that sort of things they don't exist, only what is in consciennous , exist, I am done with that already in those days; now I don't read books and thiings about mj of people i don't know or trust, so it cant be hurting me, listen to what Michael tells us nd that's will do.only after his passing I saw what he has done for this world; concerning that rabbi; in all holy books is written thy shall not judge, that's only up to God. Look at this, beautiful vid of man in the mirror, you can see how much energy Michael puts in it to awaken us to see and hear what he means; On the other side of the door, whe can name "death" is a whole army of guides who are trying to reache out for us to help and awaken us, Michael did it by his lifetime and he continue more stronger right now, with all his fans all over the world we are a huge force to be reakoned with, you know all this connected energy is so forceful; he sang it: we're taking over, that to say, the governing of this world; we make a nw order of life in this world; the kingdom of love and peace has to came and mj is our king, he is the right person; in latin person is from the root per sonare, that means the one who is truly thrilled through good vibes and so is he; and we know, that why we miss his presents so much; He truly is a present, a gift, so is life, that's why we call the now , the prensent time, it is a gift we get from universe and what are we going to do with this gift is it making war or making love, it is up to us; I talk to much so I stop and i hug you all love you! www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8Q5_3l8O04

Hi Catherine.
Your post is just wonderful! I love the part about us being like in Thriller. Yes, we have been awakened from our dead lives- called back from the grave, by Michael to carry on the love. We are here to do his work in the world. Make the world a better place.
Our work now is all about love - loving those in need, loving our enemies, releasing them to God's care and judgement. Michael left love in every corner of this planet, and we are, like you say, a force to be reckoned with, just like Michael was when he was alive. We take our attention off any negativity, need for revenge. We focus our eyes towards the future. And as he states in his songs, which are so often a call to action, we must Keep the Faith, Put Our Heart on the Line, Heal the World. He left us his music, thus leaving us himself. And music can be the most powerful thing in the world if we but harness it.
PoetGerri
And we are all so much richer for that,
