I think "We Be Ballin" is w/ Ice Cube instead of Shaq. I used to be a big hip hop fan and I read in Vibe that Michael was too. I prefer the Old School hip hop myself, but I do like Jay-Z. He & Michael were cool, Jay-Z even brought Michael on stage during 1 of his Summer Jam concerts a few years ago. He was a huge fan as were most of the hip hop nation, there's even a tribute to Michael by the hip hop nation. Jovanni has a tribute song called "Moonwalking In Heaven" and it's great!

You're right Dawn. I'm glad someone was paying attention I had gotten confused with a fan video showing Shaq. If you can find Jovanni's song, please post it! As you know, we LOVE good fan videos here. And in your honor, here's Jay-Z's video for Girls, Girls, Girls... Michael sounds extremely heavenly on it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUg7G3CPos0Mal

I've heard the same thing, that it may not be Michael singing on Mamacita. But since Carlos Santana is involved, and we know Michael worked with him before, it only makes sense that it's Michael.

See if y'all can find this other cool unreleased MJ song called Escape or Xcape. It is real cool and it kind of reminds me of a combination of Tabloid Junkie and Breaking news in terms of theme and tone. What do you all think?
Oh yeah, 3 of my FAV lesser known MJ songs are Time Waits for No One and Bless His Soul and Push Me Away. They are all from the late 70's Jacksons era and you may already be familiar with them. They are 3 of my FAVs b/c they are soo beautiful!! I say they are MJ songs cuz it's ALL MJ on the songs. Very lovely songs. I'm curious to know what y'all think? They are all on you tube

www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_Is15SWzbI I know I didn't do this right but here is the you tube link for Escape the MJ song from Invincible that was not included in the album. It's a cool song to me and the words are pure Michael.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FJN7B08zuc This is one of my favorite beautiful Michael songs. It's the full unreleased version of Lady in My Life with an extra verse that's not included in the song that appears on the Thriller album.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=53aFJsj37Ws A pretty song on the Jackson's 1978 album Destiny, called Push Me Away . I don't think the other link I posted for this had the whole song on it, but it did have a short, cute interview with MJ and Don Cornelius on Soul Train.

Thanks for posting all of these, Alicia! I've heard most of them... it's always great to go back and explore the Jacksons too. They had some incredible music, especially from Destiny and Triumph.

I had actually never heard the full version of The Lady in My Life, thank you for the link to that one Alicia. I also love the Destiny and Triumph albums. I really love watching old tv performances of the Jackson 5 and the Jacksons. This is one of my favorites, The Jackson5 and Forever Came Today: www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTEGraARUxsubeAnd since this thread is about little known MJ songs, here is one that I really, really love and I don´t see mentioned here. It is called Scared of the Moon: www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLNR8p23vLcubeIt is so beautiful and magical, just like Michael

Hi mjsiris, I am glad you liked the full version of Lady in My Life....I had not heard it until a few weeks ago and I love this longer version. So pretty. I love the extra verse, it adds a magical touch I think. I like Scared of the Moon a lot, too; it is so different. I wonder what he was thinking about when he wrote it? Loneliness? Like when one is alone and staring up and the beautiful but cold and lonely looking moon?

Thanks for posting the link to Forever Came Today, mjsiris. I had never seen this clip. I really like Carol Burnett, too. And I never knew that Michael was taller than Marlon! Michael looked so cute. "The Skinniest Jackson."

Hi, Alicia. Whenever I hear Scared of the moon it always reminds me of the feeling of being afraid of the dark, which I used to be as a young child, that part about being alone in her bed, and watching the shadows and the light and all that, thats exactly how I used to feel. Although it wasn´t the moon I was scared of, I´ve always loved the moon. So I´ve always imagined that Michael must have been afraid of the dark (or the moon) at some point in his life since he describes those feelings so well. And the idea of loneliness fits into that very well since you usually don´t feel that fear when you´re with someone else.
I´m glad you like that Forever came Today clip, that little song at the beginning is so cute. And Michael is so modest. I guess "the most talented, beautiful and all around amazing, angelic and magical Jackson" didn´t quite fit into the song!

Hi mjsiris, Ha ha also on the Forever clip he forgot to say he was, " the cutest, shyest, and sweetest Jackson". And I forgot to add, the"singingest Jackson", even though it's not really a real word haha:) Love him

Mjsiris, Scared of the Moon is so cool to me because the way Michael wrote and composed the music and the words he just paints this picture for me of a quiet darkened house in the middle of the night with the moon just beaming in-beautiful but sort of scary or something, especially to a child. I can just see it. I like too, and I don't know if it was intentional on Michael's part or not, but to me the chorus part of the song, where he sings "scared of the mooooooooooon, scared of the mooooon, scared of the mooooooooooooon, scared of the moooon.", in sort of a plaintive way, is the way one would imagine a lone wolf howling up at the moon, searching for a mate or a companion. Mike had so much depth.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycG4BVbSzYM This is a link to the full version of the song Carousel. It was supposed to be on Thriller but was cut from the album, then they put a shortened version of the song on the Thriller Special Edition that came out many years later. I think it's a pretty song.
