Please select the era that you think was the best MJ era and post about why you feel that way?
Was it his clothes? His hair? His dancing? His music? His face? His energy? His sex appeal? His charisma? Or was it that unidentifiable something that Michael just had?
We want to hear your thoughts!

I love the "Off the Wall Era" cause it's when I got to know Michael. I was 15 years old. I have heard about Jackson 5 and knew a few of their songs before that, but with "Off the Wall", he launches his solo career and became more known. I think it's one his BEST albums EVER. I can listen to it always, no matter in what century I play it and still love it like the first time. I didn't bought the record, it was my brother's album, I think it must be still around somewhere.....I'm talking about the LP's! Those big acetate records! I became a fan right there....although I did not follow too much afterwards.....
I think that album is great cause of the beat. I loooove the beat in most songs and I used to dance to them.
And his looks......that's my favorite era too.... He used to look like himself, no makeup, no surgeries, no skin disease (don't get me wrong, is not that I mind if he turned white, is not that at all! I'll accept him even if he was green!) but.... I prefer his dark tone skin (hmmmm chocolate).
He looked so sexy as a young man....after that he became more feminine. I have to say that I was in shock by his quick changing in appearance. I didn't understand it and at first didn't like so many changes. But one thing never ever change and that was my admiration for the artist and his enormous talent. By then, I never was interested in "knowing" him, I just liked the artist.....but after getting to "know" the human being you cannot help but fall in love with him.....that's why I don't really care now if he is white or yellow or have 20 surgeries on his nose (which I don't like at the end but I DON'T CARE). If that man comes right now with 10 pounds of makeup, pink skin with blutches, glasses, wig....or whatever he wants to wear I swear I marry him right away and have 10 children if he wants....

You bring up a good point about color. It's unfortunate for Michael that he had to suffer with vitiligo and all the crap from the press over it. What he didn't understand at the time, that he now understands, is that he was a living example of almost every skin color there is.
As his skin changed color, the man himself did not change, and this demonstrated to the world that skin color doesn't affect who you are as a person.
One of the things I love most about Michael is that he gender-bended all over the place, demonstrating once again that gender and sexuality don't affect who a person is either. Michael was a straight male, but one who was so secure in his masculinity that he had no issue looking more feminized.
He quite literally transcended race and gender, kicked down closed doors by sheer force of will, and dragged people - some of them kicking and screaming - to an attitude of tolerance. And once he had them there, he dragged them straight into acceptance.
That is not an easy thing to do and he paid a terrible price for the advancements he created in the world. He is just an incredibly strong and amazing soul. And when I look back at the pics of the various decades and eras, I see beauty in all of them.

How could I have a favorite when each era was the next stage in the evolution of MJ's musical soul? Each era stood on the shoulders of the ones before, with the goal of ever-evolving. But maybe, I'm thinking my favorite is the This Is It era, because so much more spiritual evolution is growing out of the pain of loss. We all just can't stop loving, can we?

I love all of his eras, but my fav has to be the Thriller/Bad eras. Thriller era is very near and dear to my heart, was always a fan, but by the time Thriller rolled around I was head over heels in love with him! I was 14 and grew up during the height of Thriller era Michael Mania and it was just AWESOME!!! I can still remember my cousin Dionne (RIP)& I rushing home from school to see the Thriller video when MTV was showing it every hour on the hour, (this is back when you could actually turn to MTV and see a video) It was just a magicial time for me and that's how I'll always remember him. Not to mention how HAWT & SEXY he was then, Good Lord he was so handsome through Thriller & Bad eras that I could just SCREAM!!!

Those of us over fifty must limit our MJ intake. Forget it I'll never stay on an MJ restricted diet. He is just too sweet! I lied I'll take a side order of Mj from all his eras!

I simply love all eras, the music ,his looks, I can´t possibly choose. It all has it charm. Everytime I listen to any of his cd´s I decide that is my favorite..until I listen to something else, than THAT is my favorite. How anyone can choose a favorite era is mystery to me.
