Hi...just tossing in my two pennies... IMO if boycotting Sony meants not buying Michael's new music, it's a little like cutting off your own nose to spite your face, so to speak. Even when Invincible came out and MJ was still affiliated with Sony, he would have wanted his fans to buy that album, so how could we have boycotted Sony then, in that capacity? Of course then, and now, we can "boycott" them by not buying their other products, or I suppose even refraining from buying the music of other artists on the Sony labels. I, for one, am fully looking forward to the new album, whenever it finally does hit the shelves. I'm sure I'll even buy multiple copies, not only for myself, but as gifts for others. Since his passing, I have literally worn out copies of my original CD"s and had to go out and replace most of them, again buying multiple copies. So it's pretty obvious that I'm not boycotting Sony, and I am supporting Michael. As far as the books and all the fur that's been flying in the MSM, on FB, the fan forums, etc., it seems everyone has an opinion, and everyone believes theirs in right. Obviously, we can't all be right. In the beginning I found myself being led around from one 'camp' to the other, not knowing who to believe. Then I remembered how Michael used to always tell us not to believe anything unless it came directly from him. Well...obviously, Michael is no longer here to tell us what the truth is; all we can do (all I can do) is to look inside and weigh what I'm hearing and reading and decide how it makes me feel. Again, IMO...there are a lot of people out there STILL only trying to make a buck off of Michael Jackson, and they know his fans are going to eat it up, so they publish their trash and unfortunately, many go out and consume it as if it's ambrosia. Leonard Rowe's book set off alarm bells all over the place for me and frankly, some of them are directed right back at him. So I'm not taking his book as gospel truth. There isn't a book out there about Michael that is gospel..."Michael Jackson Conspiracy" by Aphrodite Jones comes close, and of course "Moonwalk", but even Michael didn't write that on his own...he had a ghostwriter. Suffice it to say, I am reading and listening very carefully these days, trying to sift the wheat from the chaff, and praying for Justice for Michael on all fronts. In the meantime, I too am thrilled for new music from our beloved King of Pop and if there's a line to stand in to buy it, well, queue up folks...I'm there! With the L.O.V.E. always...and respect to all. ~Ann

Ann, THANK YOU for posting, and for your common sense! I'm more likely to agree with you, than with anyone else. I have never let the tabloid articles or books sway me, and have resisted reading Rowe's book for the same reason you believe, that it is NOT the gospel truth. Plus the fact that his book and the crazy videos out there demanding a Sony boycott do NOT help MJ fans. Rather, they are hurting them by causing anger, frustration, sadness and in extreme cases, HATRED and it really hurts ME to watch it happen. Michael would NOT want this! I wish that these fans would step back and look at the big picture... but maybe what I'm wishing is a moot point because I believe everyone's perspective will change once all the hoopla on the promotion of Michael's CD and DVDs starts, and they're finally released on November 22nd. I will most definitely be standing in line to buy them that day, and I PROMISE you that a lot of the naysayers will be secretly standing in line too, OR they will pre-order Mal

I hope everyone will support Michael's wishes....Not the pockets of Sony's Pockets. The children will not benefit and Michael will not benefit from the sales.
Sony is saying Michael sold his shared to them in the past. Michael will not see a dime. Just the 250 million dollars if they make the money in 7 year contract. However they owe 300 million dollars on a loan that is due in december which will not be paid.
How do we forget?

michaelbutton, I understand your frustration and resentment against Sony, but I'm afraid you've been misguided. All of what you've said is actually untrue. There is so much misinformation on the net now, meant to rile up MJ fans so that they will buy more tabloid mags/books about all the injustices against him. Just watch... unfortunately there will be more of these tell-all books published! And how do you know Michael's wishes? Are you talking about back in 2002? His children WILL benefit and so will his estate for many years to come. Did you read about this 300 million dollar loan that is supposedly due in December, in Rowe's book? I thought so. I only wish to give my opinion in a loving and respectful way, which is what we expect at this forum. You have your own strong opinions, so we can agree to disagree. Namaste, Mal I hope everyone will support Michael's wishes....Not the pockets of Sony's Pockets. The children will not benefit and Michael will not benefit from the sales. Sony is saying Michael sold his shared to them in the past. Michael will not see a dime. Just the 250 million dollars if they make the money in 7 year contract. WOW, I really LOVE being part of a group where opinions can be different and we don't tear each other down if we don't agree w/ them!
Here's my 2 cents, in all reality, I must say that I am completely TORN about Mikey's "new" CDs! Half of me is very excited about hearing new music from our beloved KOP but the other half really hates what Sony did to him and I know that Motolla's gone and all but Michael intended for his children to release this music NOT Sony.
I still haven't decided if I'm gonna purchase or not I wish I could ask him what he thinks even though I know that he could now care less 1 way or another. I'm trying to be more forgiving as far as Sony goes because he would NOT want us to hate.
Anyone else feeling torn??

I know people are very divided about whether to buy the new cd or not but I know I will purchase it. I don't think we know enough or anything for that matter about what Michael would have really wanted. Getting the music out there is better than keeping it locked up in my opinion. Everyone is going to hear the music once it's released, whether you buy it or not, it will be playing everywhere. There is no perfect solution to this imperfect situation.

Hi Dawn,
I don't blame you for feeling torn. So many people feel the same way, but I believe everyone should let their anger go. It's not healthy to carry it, and it doesn't help anyone, does it? It just hurts your heart to think that way, and you already know Michael doesn't want that for you.
Instead, he wants you to be happy. If buying the new CD does that for you, then he will be thrilled. We will ALL be thrilled! The whole world will rediscover how incredible Michael's talent was, and I'm really looking forward to watching it happen before my eyes! Sure, some critics may not like it for whatever dumb reason, but the rest of us, including the media, will embrace it, and Michael will once again reach #1 on the charts!
For those who believe in this, I already talked to Michael about you Dawn. I don't remember his exact words, but he understands why you and so many others feel the way you do. He wants you to let it go.

Really MAL? WOW, Mikey must really know me pretty well huh? He knows that I have a lil problem with letting things go and have for awhile now. Tell him that I am working on it but it's not easy! Better yet, lets schedule a Skype time and I'll tell him myself, I want to work on this in my life because I know that it's not healthy.

Well Dawn, it looks like you've always had a problem with letting things go and letting them rest. Daddy knows best. I just got late breaking news straight from the Huffington Post and Roger Friedman... www.huffingtonpost.com/roger-friedman/michael-jacksons-new-albu_b_776333.htmlI can understand that maybe Michael's nephews are a bit offended, but it looks a lot more like Roger is putting words in their mouths. I'm starting to get really concerned about the release date... will it be pushed back??? It seems strange we haven't heard a peep from Sony yet, or maybe I just can't stand the suspense! Check back here for the latest! Mal

Okay here's the latest on the new single, Breaking News! The one we will hear for the first time on Monday. It was written by Eddie Cascio, and produced by Teddy Riley, so it's going to be GREAT! Thanks again to Roger Friedman, who seems to be on top of things... www.showbiz411.com/2010/11/04/michael-jackson-sony-sets-dec-14-release-date-and-album-coverLOL, I think there are too many threads going about the album. Please check the Heads Up board too, for more info! Mal

Well everyone after thinking long and hard for along time I have decided that I am indeed going to purchase Mikey's CD. In fact, I just pre-ordered both the CD and Vision DVD box set. I agonized about it and was torn for a long time, but I just could not imagine him having new music out and me not having it.
I know alot of you and still upset w/ Sony & I'm not thrilled with them either, but I was beginning to use to much energy hating them & that's not good for me. Besides hating them is not going to bring Michael back to a physical life. I miss him everyday & will love him until the day that I join him in Paradise and buying his work is my way of holding on to a piece of him, it's almost theraputic for me. I understand if some of you don't agree with me, I L-O-V-E you all anyway and Mikey I love you most!!!

Great news, Dawn. I'm glad you came to that decision. I love what you said, that your buying his CD is your way to honor his legacy. That makes so much sense! Sometimes we need to be hit over the head before we realize something When you buy his new album, you are thanking him for everything he has ever done for you, by bringing you so much happiness. By buying his new album, you are gifting his children for the rest of their lives. By buying his new album, you are telling the world how proud you are to love Michael Jackson. Michael's death has brought us all together, and very soon his new music will bring the whole world together in celebration. I can hardly wait!

Okay, here is Charles Thomson's view on the "new" song released by Katherine, and his concern that it could sabotage the public's interest in MJ's new album. Since then, we've learned from Taj Jackson's tweets that Katherine did NOT release the so-called song. www.sawfnews.com/Gossip/65668.aspxI'm going to re-post this info under Heads Up, and Events & Activities because this conversation is threading all over the place Please check the other MJ Album or CD threads for more late breaking info. More late breaking news! This is what Lenny Kravitz tweeted today... he is alluding to the controversy with "Breaking News." I wish he would have heard it, so he could give us his opinion! I have read your questions regarding Michael Jackson. As I have not heard the other tracks, I can only speak for "I Can't Make It Another Day" and let you know that it is 100% Michael at his best and purely inspired. Respect always, Lenny GREAT news! Now we know the name of the song we've been calling Another Day for so long! Also, Mark Ronson, a producer in the UK, contributed a song called "Lovely Way" but we don't yet know if it will be on the album. www.nme.com/news/mark-ronson/53742

MAL, have you seen this? From MJJC "For those who are interested, I spoke with my source on the phone for over 30 minutes tonight regarding this whole mess. This is coming straight from Sony: the vocals are over 50% not MJ’s, they did hire an impersonator to run over the majority of MJ’s pre-existing vocals and tried to hide it with production. The remaining Cascio tracks including “Monster” are all in the same boat with some MJ vocals and some imposter vocals. There will be a big meeting tomorrow at Sony where they will discuss the future of this album. More to come…" OMG, I feel terrible, Mikey must hate me for pre-ordering. I'm SO SORRY MICHAEL!!

It's okay Dawn, it really is - do not feel bad for ordering! If this person really did speak to Sony and this news is TRUE, then this is really fantastic news! Sony now realizes that fans are mad as hell and ready to revolt, therefore boycotting the album. I think they finally get that there is no way they could fool fans with an imposter, so now they have to work fast to either correct their mistake or choose different songs from Michael's unreleased songs! And there are LOTS to choose from, so that won't be a problem. If they really are meeting to discuss this mess they need to straighten out, then I can see that the album release date might be pushed back again. Marty just posted something interesting, which I copied under Rants. If he's right, everything may work out after all! Fingers crossed! Will let you know.

Here's good news about the new version for Hold My Hand AND Breaking News! Harvey Levin from TMZ just personally posted again, and has glowing remarks! Imagine an online tabloid loving MJ... beautiful! Michael Jackson Song -- Akon Came Back to Finish11/12/2010 3:30 PM PST by TMZ Staff It's Harvey ... I've just heard Michael Jackson's first single, "Hold My Hand" -- not the one that leaked a few years ago, but the one Sony is about to release. First of all, it's great -- slower than a lot of MJ's songs. Our sources say Akon recently came back to the studio to lay down more vocals and really put the finishing touches on it. It sounds more produced than the "Breaking News" song that was put online this week. It's a classic, Akon-type song and it seems like Michael takes on Akon's style. His voice fluctuates like Akon's and there's a similar tonal quality. As for "Breaking News," I just heard the finished version. It's more produced than the one Sony put online and sounds more classic MJ. This is going to be a huge album. ++++++ YAY! Notice what Harvey said again I'm posting this at other threads so everyone sees it. As for "Breaking News," I just heard the finished version. It's more produced than the one Sony put online and sounds more classic MJ.

So just as I pulled up to my house today, one of my local radio stations started to play "Hold My Hand" by MJ and Akon. It was awesome to hear his name being mentioned on the airwaves again and hearing his voice in that context felt like a warm, familiar blanket.
I turned off the engine and sat in my car listening. I can't wait for the album. I have been following the debate about Sony and the controversy regarding his voice (or lack thereof) on some of the tracks, but none of it would keep me from purchasing this album and following the continuing legacy of our MJ.
Loving you all from the west coast of Canada.
